We may think we know how powerful God is, but we really don't. Job concludes as much himself. After listing examples of God's power, he concludes,
Behold, these are but the outskirts of his ways, and how small a whisper do we hear of him! But the thunder of his power who can understand? (Job 26:14)
Ed's simplified paraphrase: We're not even scratching the surface of God's power with what we know. And we know quite a bit. He created the entire universe with the word of His power. He upholds the universe in the same way. He raised Jesus from the dead according the working of His great might (Ephesians 1:19).
Incredibly, God's uses His power toward us. Ephesians 1:18 describes "what is the immeasurable greatness of His power toward us who believe". The same power that caused Jesus to rise from the dead and be seated at the Father's right hand is the same power at work toward us.
His power is incomprehensible. We will never fully grasp it. This is partly why eternity will never be boring. We will be searching His immeasurable power forever and ever.
