WHAT TO EXPECT
Welcome!
We know visiting a church for the first time can be a little unnerving when things are unfamiliar and new. So we want to answer some of the most common questions and concerns that first time guests have in order to help you become familiar with the church and what to expect at First Baptist Church of the Lakes.

What will Sunday Worship look like?As we gather for worship as a body of believers, we come to worship the Triune God and Him alone. We are led through songs, both old and new, that are rich in theological content and seek to cause us to sing aloud to our Great God. So regardless of your voice, we encourage in worship that all of God's people would sing their heart out for King Jesus. Preaching We believe the heart of worship is when the Word of God is proclaimed to the people of God. Jesus says the whole of Scripture is about Him and so we seek to exalt Jesus Christ and call his people to believe His word, who He is, and what He has done, so that we would be moved to follow Christ and all He has commanded us. Prayer As God's people we can do nothing without God. We seek to be a people characterized by prayer. Every week we come together as a body boldly to the throne of God, in Christ Jesus, to confess sin, plead with God for the souls of lost men, and to cry out to him for our needs and for His name to be glorified throughout the whole earth. Fellowship Jesus said that the world will know we are of Him by the way we love one another. Every Sunday we have a fellowship meal where we gather around in table fellowship to talk and pray with another and encourage one another in God's Word.

What about my kids?We are a family-friendly church, and we are blessed with our share of young children! We believe in training children aged 2 and up to attend the worship service with those who are looking after them. We keep the back two rows on either side of the worship center for families with young children. We also have a training chapel attached to the back of the worship center. For children under the age of 2 we have a nursery area for the kids to play and be supervised during worship. We know it can be hard with little children and so the audio of the worship service can be heard in our foyer area just outside the worship center for parents who want to take their children out of the worship center.
